About the Band

The Rush Experience

Hailing from the Baltimore/Washington Metropolitan Area, The Rush Experience are a true RUSH Tribute Act in that the band fulfill the traditional roles of Geddy, Alex and Neil... with Vince Tricarico on drums and percussion... Sean O'Brien on guitars and synthesizer pedals and David Kidd on bass, vocals, keyboards and pedals.

The band's repertoire spans RUSH's entire career from their 1974 debut album through 2012's epic swan song, Clockwork Angels. The Omega Concern focuses primarily on RUSH's hey-day 70's and 80's material, performing many of their greatest hits with a wealth of surprising deep cuts.

Ultimate tribute to RUSH

Our Bespoke Engineering Solutions

The Drum Riser Project

      A peek into the project

The initial project scope

The various projects have been focused on the drum kit of Vince Tricarico which is a detailed replica of Neil Peart’s Snakes & Arrows drum kit. Our tasks have been supporting engineering design requests for not just replicating the Snakes & Arrows drum riser but rather improving the design and bring it to a new level.

The drums are made by DW Drums which have been made under the exact specifications as Neil’s original drum kit as shown in the picture on the right.

The results of the effort

Our initial project was the mono-pole mounting for the drums to replace the traditional stands. We focused on studying Neil Peart’s drum kit to re-engineer a solution that was superior to the original without compromising the aesthetic look. We studied all types of mechanical motion and harmonic movement to ensure that the solution exceeded the performance of the standard traditional drum stands.

Working with Vince on his vision and what the drum kit would ultimately become has been a real gift for us. His level of drive and energy propelled this project into reality.

The challenge... "Create a motorized riser like Neil's." -- Vince Tricarico

"Ok, Challenge accepted!" -- Jim at Ceiling Unlimited

Engineered during the break of COVID we dealt with supply chain issues as well and still met the project objectives. Our solution is about 1/3 the weight of the solution which Neil uses and runs on standard 120 volt power versus 220 volt.
We even assembled a “field service kit” so the unit can be worked on easily in the field.
